Whether you have celiac disease, gluten intolerance, or non celiac gluten sensitivity, it is important to adhere to a strict gluten-free diet.

When you are trying to adhere to a gluten free diet, eating OPF (Other People’s Food) can be dangerous. Gluten cross contamination is a major problem, because other people don’t adequately understand the diet well enough to prepare true gluten free foods. The same can be said of restaurants who offer up gluten free menus.

Remember that the definition of gluten free is limited, and unfortunately does not include corn, oats, or rice. And many will try to offer up options that contain these grains. Getting exposure to these grains while following the No Grain No Pain diet or the True gluten free diet can cause a lot of problems including inflammation and the potential for making you sick.

To resolve the OPF problems make sure you communicate with your loved ones about your diet needs and bring your own foods.
