Is consumption of raw, unpasteurized almonds beneficial? It is my understanding that all seeds have a natural inhibitor, a defense mechanism if you will. If true, will that inhibitor fight good bacteria, or cause other issues in the gut?
If so, will sprouting the almonds [soaking them for 12 hours in water] then drying them [temps at 105 degrees] cause this to reverse itself?
Theoretically, yes soaking would be potentially beneficial. I would like to see more research on this before saying yay or nay. My advice – limited intake of nuts and seeds. They should not be a staple in your diet.
