I'm Nora and I'm from California. I am thrilled to be finding all this great information about true gluten free diets. I was diagnosed with hypothroidism in August of 2008 and with Hashimotos in July of 2009. None of the many thyroid meds helped me, they just made it worse. Since December of 2009, I have been on a traditional gluten free diet. I continued to be symtomatic although my thryoid levels returned to normal and the doctors kept telling me I was fine. I just started the True Gluten Free Diet 9 days ago and had some pretty intense withdrawal symptoms the first few days (is that normal?) and although that has subsided a bit, I still feel my usual tiredness, dizzy and brain fog….I am thinking it is too early to see any results. I am planning on going back to the doctor soon to get the Elisa ACT test done to see what food allergies I have, and perhaps that will help me feel better. All the doctors I have seen are pretty resistant to do any testing for me since I do not have much bowel problems and my thryoid levels appear to be normal, although I still suffer from thyroid symptoms. Anyone have any good doctors or resources in San Francisco East Bay that can help me?
