I have been off of Gluten and grains for about 10 to 14 days now. At first it was hard searching the ingredients of every thing, until I got a group of items I could rely on to eat as I got familiar with all my limitations. Sure I had a few slip-ups but I am sailing okay now.
One thing happened yesterday, I got sick as a dog with the runs. Today I feel some what good. Was yesterday a Herkimer reaction or healing reaction to the new Grain-free diet?
I feel rather excited that I'm actually feeling not half bad. Being sick for so long and feeling lousy all the time, really pulls me and everyone around me down. And, it couldn't have happened on a better day, Mother's Day. Makes me a little excited that I am on the right track being Grain-Free !!!
Over the past 10 to 15 years, I have had a brain fog most days, pain radiating up from my lower back to all parts of my body. Trouble getting any energy. So, when I said I was not doing half bad the other day, means I am ecstatic that I had no pain in most of my body.
Anyway, a few hours later after I made the last post, I used some “Light Butter”(my husband insists on using it) for mashed potatoes at dinner. It brought me right back where I started, pain, stiffness and brain fog. Here the light butter had “Food Starch: Modified”, which I imagine was corn. I've been in pain so far.
How long might this take to recover or for this to pass?
