I’ve read that the gluten molecule is too large to be aborbed through the skin. So would it be safe to use a lotion that has wheat germ oil in it for instance? What if you are allergic to wheat? Should all lotions, shampoos, chapsticks be disgarded with gluten containing ingredients? If so, I have a lot of money to throw down the trash
Many people react to gluten contained in hygiene products. Much like one can develop leaky gut – allowing larger molecules to pass through, one can have a weakened skin barrier function. I would not take chances.
It might cost you to throught them out in the garbage, but in the other hand; you might decide to look for GF cosmetics and GF body care products, and if they can be Certified Organic , it’s a plus, because of all the toxins that your skin will absorbs from the chemical exposure.
