I've been doing 100% of the cooking at home since my diagnosis of gluten intolerance back in October.  There have been several times I really would have loved to eat out at a restaurant but I'm too afraid of coming into contact with gluten.  I know the only completely safe way is to cook the meals myself.  But my question is …Are there any restaurants that I can go to on rare occasions that are gluten friendly.  I know that PF Changs and Chipotle have gluten free menus.  Are there others and what did you order?  I know that cross contamination is an issue.  I'm not sure I”ll be able to fully enjoy the meal having that thought in the back of my head.  However, there are times with family and friends that I need some good restaurant options.  Thanks so much for your help!

I am new to this gluten thing…plus I have a strong allergic reaction to corn (also a gluten), sugar and dairy. I would love to hear about restuarant options too. Sorry that I am of no help on this but I'm also interested in your question.

    Jenny and Laura,

I would recommend that you both watch the Gluten Free & Social Video.  There are a number of ideas and suggestions here.

Eating out is not ideal, but when you do, a safe bet is to order fish (wild caught) or buffalo with salad (dressing on the side).

Most restaurants use massive quantities of corn and rice in their “gluten free” menu selections.  If you haven't seen this post on hidden corn, check it out here – /hidden-corn-based-ingredients/

    All the best,

    Dr. OSmile
