The “Does my family need to be tested” section #11 of glutenology seems to be missing.

My question is, based on my Enterolab results of  the following genes ” DQB1 0201″  and “DQB1 0602” should my son be tested? My husband seems to tolerate gluten well and he has no family hx of autoimmune or gluten issues.

I wanted to thank you for making me feel listened to in this forumLaugh

I have just finished listening to “The Gluten Summit.”  This is a wonderful series of talks.  In Dr. Davis’ talk he mentioned that people who, after following the recommended diet and do not improve the results of their NMR tests, can have a ApoE 4 gene. People with this gene have to limit intake of all fats – even the good fats.  After I was on the diet recommended, all my blood levels improved except for this test – it got worse.  I had been eating good fats which was recommended.  The doctor could not tell me why this test got worse.  I would like to ask my doctor to do this test on me.  Do I ask him to do an “ApoE gene test.”  Can I expect he will know what I am asking for?

Your doctor should know what the ApoE genetic test is.  It is quite common.

    All the best
