I have Candida (second time in 25 years), gluten, dairy, and other food intolerance. My rotation diet allows certain fruits, coffee, etc. that weren't on the original diet I did years ago. Has the diet changed? When I eat fruit, I get gas, sometimes in 5 minutes. Should I keep eating it or what? Does the gas mean I'm feeding the yeast? I don't want to waste my time doing the wrong things.
I remember controvery between doctors over allowing fruit or not back then, so I didn't have any. I'm not allowed berries or melons for that reason, but this time I can have peaches, plums, etc. I'm on a 4 day rotation diet to avoid becoming intolerant to more foods. I can have coffee once in 4 days as well. I'm doing a hydrogen peroxide/ B vitamin drip once a week. Perhaps I can be more liberal with fruit sugars because of this. I have no idea. The drip is supposed to eliminate the candida rapidly. I was told I'd need about 8 treatments. I'm not a lover of fruit unless it's ripe, but having gluten intolerance, candida, and many other food intolerances is making my diet quite limited, so I'm eating what I'm allowed in the mean time and trying to enjoy it, until I see my doctor again.
one good site explaining candida is http://www.knowthecause.com Doug Kaufmann also has a show on TV, his diet is called the phase 1 and phase 2 diet I think. Candida causes inflamation in your body and many other things. If you go to Doug's website you and read all of his information you will better understand it. I'm not a good teacher…LOL His show is on CTN (christian television network). If you have that channel look it up, it is very interesting. There is a test your functional medicine Doctor can do.
Lori, I was given the wrong phase of my doctor's 4 step Candida diet! I knew something was wrong. It's a good thing I asked. I'm starting from scratch so I can only have meats, fish, non starchy vegetables, and salad. I didn't entirely waste the two weeks it was wrong since I lost 10 lbs. of bloat, but eating the fruit probably didn't help my Candida. I'm hoping I won't have too much of a herxhimer reaction after starting the revised diet.
