new to the gluten free journey?

Food Sensitivity Test Kit

You are unique, and while you may be eating foods that are traditionally healthy and completely gluten and grain free, they may not necessarily be right for your body. Even when someone is following a TRUE gluten-free diet, lingering symptoms can still persist. In many cases, hidden food sensitivities are the missing piece.

Everything you need to understand your results

  • No fasting required
  • Free shipping directly to your home
  • All materials for sample collection and shipping back to the lab
  • Digital and printable results (typically available within 3 weeks)

Kits may be shipped to clients in NY, NJ, and RI. Due to state regulations, specimen collections cannot be performed within these states. All blood draws must be completed out of state prior to returning samples to the laboratory.

We are able to ship this test kit to clients in Canada; however, the specimen collection and return shipping must meet strict timing requirements. The laboratory requires time-sensitive materials to be returned within an overnight or express delivery window. Because international courier timelines cannot be guaranteed, clients outside the United States will need to arrange and pay for their own expedited return shipping to the laboratory.

Please ensure that your chosen courier can meet the required delivery timeframe before collecting your sample.

This advanced panel evaluates delayed immune reactivity to 221 gluten-free foods by measuring three key antibody types: IgG, IgG4, and IgA.

  • IgG reflects systemic delayed inflammation to foods

  • IgG4 reflects repeated or long-term exposure patterns and helps distinguish irritation from true inflammatory responses

  • IgA reflects mucosal (gut-level) immune activity and highlights foods that may be impacting intestinal health

By assessing all three antibody types together, this panel provides a more complete and nuanced picture of how your body responds to foods compared to standard IgG-only tests. Only foods that show a measurable immune response appear on your personalized report.

Are you gluten free and still feel like something is keeping you from feeling your best?

Even when you are committed to a TRUE gluten-free lifestyle, certain foods can continue to provoke delayed immune reactions. These hidden sensitivities may overburden your immune system and contribute to ongoing symptoms.

Delayed immune responses to foods can play a role in:

  • Chronic inflammation

  • Digestive issues or leaky gut

  • Skin problems

  • Migraine headaches

  • Fatigue or brain fog

  • Joint pain

  • Oral or sinus symptoms

  • Autoimmune flare-ups

Identifying and temporarily removing reactive foods can help reduce inflammation, support gut healing, and improve overall wellbeing.

how it works

Get Your Blood Drawn and Mail Out Your Kit

Step 1: Review the Collection Process

This non-fasting test uses a simple serum draw any phlebotomist can perform. Before ordering, please review the serum draw and mailing instructions.*

Step 2: Schedule Serum Draw

Keep in mind that you are dealing with time sensitive materials. Schedule your serum draw, and use the pre-paid FedEx label to ensure your blood sample is overnighted to our lab.

Step 3: Get Your Digital Results

Digital results are emailed within about three weeks, showing your IgG, IgG4, and IgA reactivity levels for each food.

Questions?

*IMPORTANT

Once your kit arrives, schedule a standard serum blood draw with AnyLabTestNow, ArcPoint Labs, or a mobile phlebotomist. This test cannot be collected at LabCorp, Quest, or through medical offices. Because the serum tubes are time sensitive, be prepared to return your sample right away using the included overnight label (U.S. clients) or your own express courier (Canadian clients).

Will my insurance pay for my test through Gluten Free Society?

Gluten Free Society does not accept insurance. In some cases, your lab test and payment may be eligible for reimbursement depending on your specific insurance policy. Please verify this directly with your insurance provider.

Outside of an itemized receipt, Gluten Free Society does not provide CPT codes or additional documentation that insurance companies sometimes request.

Is this Food Sensitivity Test the same as IgG-only testing?

No. This test measures three different antibody pathways — IgG, IgG4, and IgA — which provides a more complete picture than standard IgG-only tests.

  • IgG shows delayed systemic inflammatory responses

  • IgG4 reflects repeated exposure and helps distinguish irritation from true inflammatory reactivity

  • IgA reflects mucosal (gut-level) immune responses

Testing all three helps reduce false positives and provides a more accurate interpretation of how your immune system responds to foods.

Why is it important to evaluate delayed immune reactivity?

Food reactions fall into two broad categories:

  • Acute allergies, which occur immediately

  • Delayed hypersensitivities, which develop hours to days after exposure

Delayed reactions are easy to overlook because the symptoms are not immediate. These reactions can contribute to:

  • Chronic inflammation

  • Gut irritation and leaky gut

  • Skin issues

  • Migraines or headaches

  • Fatigue or brain fog

  • Joint pain

  • Autoimmune flare-ups

Identifying these delayed immune responses can help reveal hidden triggers that continue causing symptoms even when following a TRUE gluten-free diet.

Can this Food Sensitivity Test be mailed internationally or to New York?

United States

Kits may be shipped to all 50 states; however:

  • Specimen collection cannot occur in New York, New Jersey, or Rhode Island due to state regulations.
Clients in these states must complete their blood draw outside state lines before returning the sample.

International Clients (including Canada)

We can only ship kits to Canada.
Because serum samples are time sensitive, Canadian clients must arrange and pay for their own express return shipping to ensure timely delivery to the laboratory.

Please confirm return courier timelines before collecting your sample.

Are there any fasting or medication restrictions?

No fasting is required for this test.
There are no special dietary restrictions or medication holds needed for this collection. This is a standard serum blood draw.

Where and how do I get my blood drawn?

This test requires a serum blood draw, and the kit includes all materials needed for the phlebotomist.

This collection cannot be performed at LabCorp, Quest Diagnostics, or most medical offices.
These locations are not contracted to draw or process this type of test kit.

We recommend using one of the following:

Option 1 – AnyLabTestNow

Find a location: https://www.anylabtestnow.com/locations/

Option 2 – ARCpoint Labs

Find a location: https://www.arcpointlabs.com/locations/

Option 3 – Mobile Phlebotomy Services

This is often the most convenient option. Many clients choose mobile phlebotomists who come to their home or office.

Important:
Avoid Friday–Sunday blood draws and avoid appointments after 12:30 p.m. These times do not guarantee a same-day courier pickup.

Once tested, does it mean I have to avoid these foods forever?

Not necessarily.

Most food sensitivities are acquired, and once the underlying cause is addressed, the sensitivity often resolves. A smaller percentage of sensitivities may be fixed and require long-term avoidance.

In general:

  • About 80–90% of sensitivities improve with gut repair and immune support

  • About 10–20% may be long-term or permanent

We recommend avoiding moderate and high reactivity foods for at least six months before attempting reintroduction.
