Eating Meat vs Vegetarian Diets – which is right for you?

Many advocate for meat and many advocate for a plant based or vegetarian diet. The vegetarian diet has many subcategories:
Vegan = plants only, no animal products
Lactovegetarian – plants plus dairy
Pesco = fish plus plants
Ovo = eggs plus plants

If you are moving toward a plant based vegetarian diet, you should be aware that certain nutrients should be monitored because plants either don’t provide them, or provide low levels of them. Examples of these nutrients include:

Vitamin B6
Methionine
Iron

The big question many ask is – Is a vegetarian diet healthier than eating meat in the diet? The simple answer is – It Depends…It depends on the person. Some are better genetically suited for meat, and some are better suited for vegetarian or plant based diets.
