I too would suggest ELISA ACT testing. It will give you all of the foods she is allergic to.  You could get her genetic testing done, but it isn't as difinitive and ELISA.  I found out my genes when I had  the enterolab stool test done, it wasn't difficult to read at all.  It gives you a description of what the genes mean.  If you look in this forum under weightloss not happening.  I posted my results, so you could see what the enterolab results look like.  You can test for foods on enterolab, but I don't think corn is one of them.  Good luck with all of this, I can't imagine being in your shoes.  Your poor daughter that is just awful!  I would definitely talk to your doctor and see about getting allergy testing!

As Jackie said, please keep us posted!

Praying for you and your daughter,

    Lori

Well it has been 10 days since I read this post and it took me a couple of days to really stick to the dairy free and sugar free diet.  But, I finally decided to just quit whinning and do it! Well I did and I have lost 5.8 lbs in about a week.  I am eating as much food as I want, Idon't even try to limit portions.  I eat when I am hungry and I am NOT craving anything.  I have never in my life been able to say that.  I have always wondered why other people could diet and have success and all I did was crave more food and was miserable!  I have been so happy, full of energy and I went to 4 open houses yesterday and I ate the fresh fruit, fresh veggies and pork that was roasted on a pit. I woke up this morning and lost .8 of a pound from yesterday and I feel great.  I actually am waking up earlier and getting moving.  I kind of realized sugar was a problem a month ago or so when I baked a traditional GF cake that called for 2 cups of sugar and I even made it grain free, with flours that have no grain and everytime I made it I would just eat like a pig until it was gone and crave it for days and days.  NOw I know why, NO MORE SUGAR for me!!!!!  Thanks for the suggestion it really is working!!!!!!

I’m wondering if the mothers have undiagnosed gluten sensitivity causing a C-section and also genetically passing down the celiac??? I had 3 C sections and would have lost all 4 (twins) of my children had it not been for the C section. (or possibly my own life to due to toxic shock syndrome.)  I just found out I have the celiac gene a few months ago and my children are all grown up now…..hmmm food for thought

Correction – I said toxic shock syndrom and I meant toxemia (oops old age setting in..LOL)

I have seen vitamins that you spray under your tongue and they claim to not have any fillers or binders in them.  Would these be safe, I believe the brand I saw was purevitamist.

    Cynthia,

Are you still having stomach problems?  If you watch all of the videos on this website you will get tons of info.  Dr. Osborne believes traditional GF is not enough and all grains should be cut out, including rice and corn.  If you are still having trouble, you may want to research this.  There are a lot of recipes online, if you look in the receipe section on this website you will see there are links to websites and also recipes posted.  Good luck, we are all stumbling through this together.

Have you received your lab results back on the quinoa products yet.  I have been anxiously waiting to see if there are any out there I can eat.  It would make breakfast so much nicer.

What is this testing that Dr. Parker is talking about?  How do you get it and how much does it cost? What does it test for? Is it allergies or intolerances or sensitivities?

I made this, but I just used the meat, (was out of almond flour).  It was FANTASTIC, I wasn’t sure if I would love it or not, but I really did!  It so took care of the pizza craving I have been having.  I actually think I like it better than regular crust.  Next time, I definitely will try the nut flour though. (see what that tastes like)LaughLaugh

Love it when I find something so satisfying!!!!

I agree also, I was just saying I was hungry and found something to tide me over that wasn’t as damaging as eating something in it that I shouldn’t have.  As I said I try not to eat processed food, but this isn’t a perfect world and occassionally things like this happen and we need to try and make the best choice for the moment.

    Troy,

My colitis is soooo much better!! The only time I have trouble is if I get grain in my diet by accident or if I eat a ton of raw veggies.  I find it is much better if I at least steam them.  Other than that I don’t have any trouble whatsoever!!!  If you have not been tested I would definitely recommend it. I am a firm believer in this diet!!

    Good Luck,

    Lori
