In addition, many following a traditional gluten free diet choose highly processed gluten free food substitutes lacking appropriate nutrient and vitamin density. This increased consumption of empty calories contributes to a need for more vitamins and minerals in the diet.
There are different symptoms associated with nutritional deficiencies depending on how significantly the deficiency has progressed. Symptoms also vary based on the type of deficiency that you are experiencing. Here is a brief summary of what to expect by stage of deficiency. Keep in mind that symptoms will vary by person, and any questionable symptoms should be thoroughly explored by a practitioner through nutrient testing.

Keep in mind that you are dealing with time sensitive materials. Schedule your blood draw, and use the pre-paid FedEx label to ensure your blood sample is overnighted to our lab.
Digital results are emailed within 2-3 weeks and will include a list of your insufficient and/or borderline nutrients (if any), as well as a detailed description of each.
Gluten Free Society does not accept medical insurance. In certain situations, your lab test and its payment might be covered and reimbursed by your insurance company, depending on your policy terms. Please verify this with your insurance provider.
Outside of an itemized receipt, Gluten Free Society does not provide any CPT codes or additional documentation your insurance provider may require for reimbursement.

No, fasting is not required.
There is no need to discontinue supplements weeks prior to testing. This micronutrient analysis is a reflection of the individual’s longterm nutrient status (over ~ 6 months). If possible, do not take any medications/supplements at least 4 hours before blood draw.
No. Insurance plans do not reimburse for this test, currently.
Test results are typically emailed to you 2-3 weeks after the specimen is received in the laboratory.

Unfortunately, if you are living in New York, you will not be able to perform this blood draw as the lab cannot accept any samples drawn within the New York state limits.

Additionally, this test is currently only being offered to residents of the United States. The materials are extremely time sensitive and overnight services cannot be guaranteed to international destinations. We hope to be able to expand our borders in the future, but only ship within the United States at this time.
It is important to find a location that can properly draw your blood. You will be provided with the test kit and it includes all of the materials needed for the phlebotomist.
Please keep in mind that a blood draw fee will likely be charged to you at the time of your draw. Every location charges a different amount, depending on the area and lab. We recommend that you ask for the cost prior to scheduling your appointment.
NOTE: Many phlebotomy labs will take care of shipping the specimen using the included prepaid FedEx label and shipping envelope. If the lab does not provide that service, you can take the kit to the FedEx location nearest you.

This is EXACTLY the kind of test I have longed for, so I don’t need to keep guessing about which nutrients I might be in need of. I was even surprised at some of the results. I am deficient in some that I just knew would be fine…and I am fine in some that I thought for sure were going to be low. That’s what happens when I took out the guesswork. Now, I need to find something akin to a compounding pharmacy to whip me up a custom recipe with the specific nutrients I need in a therapeutic dose to get me back into the green again! I take the INA test every 6 months. I’ve been on KETO over 3 years and like to supplement any deficiencies. Most recent test showed my B2 was insufficient in the red. I have been having occasional ocular migraines, so happy I found the cause. Will be increasing my B2 and hope I never have one again. The test results came back in a little over a week from the blood draw.

I decided to take the Intracellular “Nutrient Deficiency Test” after my Naturopathic doctor told me that she believes I am malnourished. I have a few medical issues I am aware of and I am already taking a multitude of supplements. However, I guess my body is not utilizing them like I thought they were because just before the NDT test, I had my serum blood test and my zinc was extremely high, due to supplementation, yet the NDT test shows my zinc was borderline. What I love about this test is that it measures over the past 6 months and not just what is roaming around in your blood stream from the day before. Now I can discuss with my doctor what I can do to make my body absorb the supplements I’m taking. I’m hoping to set an appointment with Dr. Osborne some day for a second opinion as I believe my doctor is at a loss as to why my body won’t absorb properly. I highly recommend this test if you can afford it, it is worth knowing and will eventually save you money in the long run because quality supplements are not cheap.
