I find the best source of fuel for me before workouts is an apple with almond butter.  I have also had luck with just plain old cooked eggs (boiled, fried in healthy oil, poached, scrambled etc.)  I don’t eat much fruit, but the apple and almond butter really work well for me. I also need to drink a lot of water!  I have noticed the better my diet and workouts the more water I require! :)
