  1. I was lucky as a nutritionist I knew was able to diagnose me after I suffered from anaphylactic shock, not to wheat or gluten but she did say that as I was probably a coeliac and wheat & gluten made me allergic. I used to suffer from almost weekly migraines, as well as depression, fatigue and a very upset stomach but I hardly suffer at all now and if I do, it’s only as a result of being accidentally glutened.

  2. Yes, I have had migraines as long as I can remember (I am 52). The migraines were almost completely eradicated. I still have the occasional migraine (about once every 2 months related to normal hormonal fluctuations) but they are much milder than in the past. I have been completely GF for three years (except for minimal contamination). I have recently cut out nearly all grains and eat a paleo/primal diet that seems to be the healthiest diet for me.

  3. I’m leaving a reply not to share the story of my recovery, which I’ve already done in other places on this website, but to advocate for the sharing of grain free induced health recovery’s. When someone finds a food that has been causing them life threatening harm, often another person will find the same success.

  4. I had migraines for 25 years, peaking out toward the end of that time with two 2-3 day migraines per week. In other words, I was going into one, suffering from one or recovering from one the entire time I raised four children and it was misery. I kept a food diary and found some obvious triggers but knew nothing about gluten until about 2003 and when I finally figured out what going gluten free really means, the migraines went away within 48 hours. If I eat gluten accidentally, the head aches return immediately.

  5. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 2004. Started on a gluten free/dairy free diet in 2007. In 2009 my thyroid started functioning normally. I eliminated corn and rice which has taken the headaches away. I now eat close to what is a O positive blood type diet, meat, fruit and veggies and am the healthiest I’ve ever been.

  6. I learned I had a Gluten problem in1999. Two years later I developed headaches @ migrains. There more frequent during the summer. They seem to be more heat related. When I get a bad one, I get can’t cool down. Could this be Gluten related? I eat a Gluten free diet.

    1. Michelle,
It is possible. Are you on a TRUE gluten free diet or a traditional gluten free diet? It is also possible that you are getting exposed to migraine triggers through other foods.
