Hey, where are you? I feel so alone in the non-processed, grain, free- realm. Here is a little something to get you thinking.
Please tell what foods make you feel good or have energy. Four of mine are
fennel bulb. If you haven't tried it you can be in for a real treat. It has a light licorice flavor.
I know that sweet foods will give us a kick, but since I have a sweet problem I want to know about wholesome non-sweet food.

Hi Diana, I'm here. Well, to be honest I'm on our Facebook groups more often than here. I also love beets, beans and salmon too. Have never tried fennel, thanks for the tip! In my gluten full days I used to love black jelly beans so I think I'll have to go buy some fennel today!
I have a brand new nutriblast smoothie maker that I'm having tons of fun with presently! Can't really say I'm following any recipes but am having a blast anyway! Really find I enjoy adding ginger, cilantro or mint to just about everything. This thing comes with a blade that is supposed to grind coffee, nuts etc. I am going to try grinding some wild rice into flour and see if I can make a spice cake for my birthday in Aug. Wish me luck! You really have me thinking now. Another of my favorite things in the gluten full days that I used to love was an anise flavored mexican bread. Anise also tasted like licorice to me. Wonder if a fennel cake would be a possibility? I know I have read that licorice contains gluten but I think that is referring to the store bought candy as opposed to the actual liquorice plant. Wikipedia tells me that anise, star anise, tarragon, fennel,and sassafras also have a similar taste. It also states some rather interesting medicinal uses although like most thing sounds like too much can have negative effects. Hoping Dr. O. will chime in here!

Oh my, so very many good ones! Gluten Free Society's main page, which for some reason shows up as a "place" vs "group" on my drop down list when I put the two words gluten and free into the search box on top in the blue band once I sign on to Facebook, then there is an actual group page called "Dr. Osborne's Natural Health and Wellness Group" There is another page under "Glutenology" . Those are the main ones that Dr. O. has but there are so many others that I have "liked" and follow. The ones closest to what we follow I found by searching for "grain free" vs "gluten free" and also anything using the word "paleo". Even Dogtor J who has done some awesome interviews with Dr. O has a group page! Another group I love is "Heal Thyself Q&A" not strictly food related but has been very, very useful. Send me a friend request! I use my maiden and last name (Theresa Davenport Vela) on facebook. Makes it easier for me to be found!

Also check out My New Roots on Facebook. There are many specialized recipes on that page and many are paleo, gluten free, etc. Not every recipe is doable but it is definitely a great resource. There is an amazing-looking gluten and dairy free cheesecake that I want to try. It uses coconut oil, nuts and medjool dates and fruit. It's layered and beautiful! My friends tried it and said they like it even better than regular cheesecake!

The book Body Ecology has a wonderful fennel soup that is great for digestion. Even my husband loved it! I borrowed mine from the library.
